Witness the Famous Wildebeest Migration

Experience over 1.5 million wildebeest, 200,000 zebra, and numerous antelope as they undertake an 800km epic journey. From June to October, watch as they navigate treacherous river crossings and evade land predators, migrating between the Serengeti and the Mara.

For shorter expeditions, return to camp for a late breakfast, perhaps by the saltlick. Your day has just begun, offering guided walks, swims, Spa sessions, or downtime in your tent.

In the heart of our Conservancy lies a secret we uncovered after a decade: the Kakiya cave. This hidden gem, discovered by the Mau Mau in the 1950s, is woven into the fabric of Masai tribal life. Named "the place of eating and drinking," Kakiya cave holds a deeper significance, encompassing ancestor worship, animal sacrifices, and initiation ceremonies. Your Masai spotter will share its rich history and the traditional medicines prepared here, using plants like Orange leaf crotons and combretum molle roots.

The adventure begins with a 15-minute drive followed by a scenic 10-minute walking safari, or a direct walk from Mara Bushtops, making for a 2 ½ hour round trip. On arrival, learn the ancient art of fire-making without matches, illuminating a cave adorned with red ochre depictions of wild animals and warriors. This space, once a hunting rite of passage, now inspires conservation efforts and our Bushtops identity. The Kakiya cave is truly unique – a visit you won't want to miss!
