The Cusco & Amazon Tour – 10 Days Itinerary

Upon arrival at the Cusco airport, a dedicated transfer awaits to escort you to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure, with a gentle recommendation to meander through Cusco's enchanting cobblestone streets and visit the vibrant San Pedro market. Acclimatization to the city's altitude is advised through restful exploration. The evening brings a briefing at the tour office, introducing guides and fellow hikers, and ensuring all are prepared for the Inca Trail adventure ahead.

A journey through the Sacred Valley begins with an 8 a.m. departure from Cusco, winding through the mountains to El Mirador for breathtaking views. The valley, a fertile cradle of the Andes, reveals the Inca's masterful terracing and irrigation. The ruins of Pisac offer a window into Inca culture, followed by a visit to its bustling market. Lunch at a local Andean restaurant precedes the exploration of Ollantaytambo's ruins, a testament to Incan architectural prowess. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Ollantaytambo, poised for the Inca Trail's commencement.

An early start from Ollantaytambo leads to the train station for a scenic journey to Km 104, the trailhead of the Short Inca Trail. After enjoying the iconic views, we’ll begin our descent to Machu Picchu itself. One of the many advantages of this trek is that by the time you reach Machu Picchu the day travelers will have left. This leaves you the whole area to explore with no interruptions. The day's trek concludes with a descent to Aguas Calientes and a delicious dinner at Indio Feliz.
