The Grand Ocean Spray Cruise Tour

The Grand Ocean Spray invites you to explore the Galapagos Islands aboard a next generation luxury vessel.

Carrying 16 guests across three decks, this catamaran pairs panoramic windows and private balconies with the kind of stability that makes island-hopping feel effortless. Routes range from 3 to 7 nights, with extended itineraries stretching up to 14 nights for those wanting a deeper look at the archipelago, departing every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Suites on the Main and Upper Decks open onto private balconies with sweeping views, while five separate social areas, among them a dining room lit by crystal chandeliers and a panoramic spa, give guests plenty of room to relax or mark a special occasion. In the evenings, the Sky Deck comes into its own, with a premium whirlpool, a fully stocked cocktail bar, and 360-degree views over the islands.

Meals are created from the ship's Epicure Cuisine program, a menu that evolves alongside the journey and draws on the freshest ingredients available at each stop.

Wildlife announces itself constantly here: giant albatross and frigate birds riding the currents overhead, sea lions and colorful fish weaving below the surface, and ancient tortoises, blue-footed boobies, and marine iguanas sharing the shoreline. Every route is matched specifically to the Grand Ocean Spray, so the ship and the itinerary work together to bring you as close to this extraordinary ecosystem as possible.

Day 1 · Saturday

San Cristobal Arrival & Lobos Island / Kicker Rock

You'll land at San Cristobal Airport, where the crew is waiting to take you straight to the vessel. In the afternoon you'll visit Lobos Island, where sea lions rest along the rocks and clear channel waters often reveal turtles, rays and the odd white-tipped shark, before circling Kicker Rock, a pair of eroded volcanic cones rising over 100 metres from the open sea.

Wildlife Arrival

Day 2 · Sunday

Pitt Point & Witch Hill

Pitt Point feels like another planet, its volcanic terrain climbing to a viewpoint where blue-footed boobies nest on the ground and red-footed boobies take to the trees. In the afternoon Witch Hill's eroded shoreline gives way to a powdery white beach with teal and turquoise water, reached first by panga.

Geology Beach

Day 3 · Monday

Post Office Bay & Cormorant Point / Devil's Crown

At Post Office Bay you can leave a postcard in the barrel first used by pirates and sailors, or take one home to send yourself. In the afternoon Cormorant Point's two beaches, one tinted green by olivine crystals, sit beside a flamingo lagoon, while Devil's Crown offshore is one of the best snorkeling sites in the islands, its submerged volcanic structures thick with fish, rays, turtles and sharks.

History Snorkelling

Day 4 · Tuesday

Black Turtle Cove & Departure

A mangrove-lined inlet on Santa Cruz's north side, Black Turtle Cove shelters young reef sharks, turtles and rays in its shallow, protected water, with pelicans and blue-footed boobies diving overhead. From there it's a transfer to Baltra Airport for your flight back to the mainland.

Wildlife Departure

Day 1 · Tuesday

Baltra Arrival & Bartholomew, Pinnacle Rock

You'll land at Baltra Airport, where the crew is waiting to take you straight to the vessel. In the afternoon you'll visit Bartholomew and its Pinnacle Rock, a layered basalt formation shaped by an undersea eruption, with a nesting beach for green turtles and clear water where Galápagos penguins and curious sea lions often appear.

Geology Snorkelling

Day 2 · Wednesday

Darwin Bay & El Barranco

Genovesa's Darwin Bay sits inside a collapsed volcanic caldera and holds one of the richest bird populations in the islands, with an estimated 20,000 red-footed boobies nesting through the trees and bushes. In the afternoon El Barranco, better known as Prince Philip's Steps, climbs a rocky path through a Palo Santo forest to more nesting red-footed boobies and shorebirds.

Birdwatching Geology

Day 3 · Thursday

Espumilla Beach / Buccaneer Cove & Egas Port

Once a hideout for pirates and sailors, Buccaneer Cove now offers some of the best snorkeling around, its underwater formations home to a wide range of tropical fish. Egas Port follows in the afternoon, also known as James Bay, with grottos and tide pools that shelter marine life and quick-footed lava lizards darting along the shore.

Snorkelling Wildlife

Day 4 · Friday

North Seymour & Highlands / Charles Darwin Research Station

North Seymour holds a large colony of land iguanas alongside sea lions, blue-footed boobies and one of the biggest Magnificent Frigatebird colonies in the Galápagos. In the afternoon the Santa Cruz highlands bring lava tubes and a shift into greener terrain, before a stop at the Charles Darwin Research Station to see the tortoise breeding programs working to reverse decades of decline.

Wildlife Conservation

Day 5 · Saturday

Mosquera Islet & Departure

Mosquera Islet, a low reef of coral and lava rock between Baltra and North Seymour, holds one of the largest sea lion populations in the archipelago, and orcas have occasionally been spotted hunting them offshore. From there it's a transfer to Baltra Airport for your flight back to the mainland.

Wildlife Departure

Day 1 · Saturday

Baltra Arrival & Chinese Hat

You'll land at Baltra Airport, where the crew is waiting to take you straight to the vessel. In the afternoon you'll visit Chinese Hat, named for its distinctive cone shape and a site rarely seen outside a Galápagos cruise, known for its volcanic geology and resident wildlife.

Geology Arrival

Day 2 · Sunday

Vicente Roca Point & Espinoza Point

A dinghy ride brings you into Vicente Roca Point, a wide bay split into two coves. The cooler water here draws in an abundance of marine life, so it's common to spot whales, dolphins and sea lions while you snorkel. Espinoza Point sits within a striking lava landscape dotted with lava cactus, with mangroves growing straight out of the rock.

Snorkelling Wildlife

Day 3 · Monday

Tagus Cove & Urbina Bay

At Tagus Cove you'll look out for the flightless cormorant and other seabirds before the trail climbs to a cliff top overlooking Darwin Lake, a saline lake saltier than the ocean itself. Urbina Bay follows, where uplifted coral formations sit alongside land iguanas, giant tortoises and lava lizards.

Hiking Wildlife

Day 4 · Tuesday

Elizabeth Bay & Moreno Point

The day starts with a dinghy ride into Elizabeth Bay, a no-landing site where the water alone reveals an abundance of marine life and excellent snorkeling. Moreno Point rewards anyone interested in geology and birds alike, its rocky shoreline holding coastal lagoons with white-tipped sharks and panoramic views of the Sierra Negra and Cerro Azul volcanoes.

Snorkelling Birdwatching

Day 5 · Wednesday

Charles Darwin Research Station & Highlands

A morning at the Charles Darwin Research Station gives insight into the conservation work protecting the islands' endemic plant and animal life. In the afternoon the Santa Cruz highlands rise to 1,500 metres, a green, fern-covered contrast to the lava coastlines, home to giant tortoises, mockingbirds and finches.

Conservation Highlands

Day 6 · Thursday

South Plaza Island & Departure

One of the smallest visitor sites in the islands, South Plaza packs in an outsized amount of wildlife, its cactus-covered terrain supporting land iguanas now recovering since mice were eradicated a few years back, all set against turquoise water and black lava. From there it's a transfer to Baltra Airport for your flight back to the mainland.

Wildlife Departure

Day 1 · Thursday

Baltra Arrival & Santa Fe Island

You'll land at Baltra Airport, where the crew is waiting to take you straight to the vessel. In the afternoon you'll visit Santa Fe Island, home to the island's own endemic land iguana, with one trail climbing to a scenic viewpoint and another leading down to a quiet beach.

Wildlife Arrival

Day 2 · Friday

Suarez Point & Gardner Bay / Osborn Islet

Española's Suarez Point is one of the richest wildlife sites in the Galápagos, its trail passing the only waved albatross breeding ground in the islands along with marine iguanas, Nazca and blue-footed boobies, and Darwin's finches. Gardner Bay follows in the afternoon, a white sand beach with a large sea lion colony and Española mockingbirds bold enough to land close by, while Osborn Islet nearby offers some of the best water in the trip.

Wildlife Beach

Day 3 · Saturday

Interpretation Center / Galapaguera & Lobos Island / Kicker Rock

San Cristobal's Interpretation Center traces the human and natural history of the islands, followed by the Galapaguera, where tortoises are bred and roam a semi-natural habitat. In the afternoon Lobos Island brings sea lions resting along the shore and clear channel water for spotting turtles and rays, before circling Kicker Rock, two eroded volcanic cones towering over the open sea.

History Wildlife

Day 4 · Sunday
