About The Kaingu Safari Lodge
Welcome to Kaingu Safari Lodge, a hidden gem in the heart of Zambia's pristine wilderness. Nestled within the expansive Kafue National Park, covering an impressive 22,440km², our lodge invites you to unlock the secrets of Africa's last true wilderness.
The lodge is strategically located in the Namwala Game Management Area (GMA) along the pristine Kafue River. It's a remote and spectacular stretch of the river, approximately 400 kilometers north of the majestic Victoria Falls. Just across the river lies the Kafue National Park, a mere 10-minute boat ride away. Here, you can embark on unforgettable open game drives and witness magnificent game in its natural habitat.
Kaingu Safari Lodge is a testament to sustainable tourism. From its inception in 2003, the lodge has been meticulously designed to harmonize with its environment. We've minimized our ecological footprint by integrating the architecture seamlessly with the landscape, preserving existing trees, rocks, and topographical features. Solar power fuels our operations, and we adhere to strict environmental guidelines for energy, water usage, waste disposal, and sewage management.
Our lodge is independently owned and operated by two couples whose passion for Africa brought them together. Rick and Lynda, who hail from Australia with backgrounds in veterinary medicine and pharmacy, embarked on this venture as a retirement project. Julia and Gilmour, with years of experience running safari camps in West Africa, joined them. Together, they bring a blend of skills, a commitment to staff development, and a warm and informal lodge atmosphere.
