Tilney Manor itself is composed of six large open-plan suites. Each of these includes their own private veranda and provide incredible panoramic views of the reserve. The suites can sleep a maximum of two adults.

Game Drives

The Sanbona Reserve is an excellent area to spot African wildlife. Home to the Big 5 and iconic animals, enjoy 3-hour game drives around the reserve to find the lions, giraffes, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, and more.

The Sanbona Reserve project is to restore the balance of nature that existed here long ago. The comfortable land cruisers for game viewing traverse three different biomes of the Sanbona Reserve to find the different wildlife. With knowledgeable and experienced Sanbona rangers, spot the various animals on early morning or sunset drives.

Please note – no persons under 4 years of age are permitted to join game drives.

Birding

There are over 200 different birds in the Sanbona Reserve. A great area for bird lovers is the bank of the Bellair Dam where over 40 species can be seen in this one spot. Some favorite species to spot include the booted eagles, cinnamon-breasted warblers, black-winged stilts, namaqua sandgrouse, jackal buzzards, and Ludwigs bustards.

Walking Trails

A favorite activity in the Sanbona Reserve, on walking safaris experience Africa as an early explorer. Walk the Little Karoo to find a diversity of animals and plants on foot. There are many nature walks through the reserve where the Sanbona rangers will guide you while telling interesting information about the reserve, its wildlife, and the region’s history.

Relaxation

Enjoy your relaxation retreat at your Sanbona Reserve accommodation to enjoy a range of massages and other treatments. Enjoy treatments suited for stress release, cleansing, relaxation, as well as rejuvenating facial treatments.

See Ancient Rock Art

The Sanbona Reserve has seven known sites for rock art dating to around 3,500 years ago. The rock art depicts the lives of the San and the Khoi-Khoi people who lived in the region until around 100 years ago. The different groups have their own style and focus the paintings on different parts of their lives.

Tour the Waterways

Enjoy water safaris in the Sanbona Reserve on either sunrise or sunset cruises to spot the Big 5, hippos, and many different birds. Hear fascinating commentary on the wildlife and region from your ranger guide as you navigate the waterways.

Rates per person
Rates based on double occupancy
All rates are invoiced in South African Rand (ZAR) on “per person per night” basis.

Adults travelling:

Adult Sharing rates apply to persons (12 years and older) sharing one room/suite/tent. Persons 12 years and older are considered adults and will therefore require their own room/suite/tent at the applicable rates.
Single Adult rates are only applicable when one adult is staying by him/herself in one room/suite/tent. Not applicable when an adult is sharing a room/suite/tent with a child/children.
Note that all rooms can sleep a maximum of two adults.
Above mentioned rates are inclusive of breakfast, lunch, dinner, high tea, game drives, guided walks, tea, coffee, water, game drive beverages, tourism levy and 14% Vat (all other beverages are excluded and can be settled upon departure).
Persons under the age of 16 years are not permitted on any walking safaris.

Insurance

We highly recommend that travel insurance is taken out.

Transfers

Transfers can be arranged with reservations on request at an additional cost.
All transfers are handled by accredited car hire and charter companies.
All transfers must be arranged prior to arrival.

Provisional Reservations

Not available to reservations between 15 December and 28 February (travelling dates).
Subject to availability; i.e.: should we have limited suites available, only confirmed bookings will be accepted.
Made less than 30 days prior to arrival will be held for a max of 72 hours.
Made 60 - 90 days prior to arrival will be held for a maximum of 7 working days.
Made more than 90 days prior to arrival will be held for a maximum of 14 working days.
Should confirmation not be received by the given date; the booking will be automatically released and can only be re-instated on the basis that the booking is confirmed/guaranteed.
Full names of guests traveling will be required to convert the status from provisional to confirm.

Payment

Full pre-payment is required 60 days prior to arrival.
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve reserves the right to release bookings, should payment not be received by the requested date.
Any discrepancies on the confirmation/pro forma invoice must be addressed at the time of booking.
All bank charges are for the account of the tour operator and will not be paid by Sanbona Wildlife Reserve.
All payments made by credit card are subject to a 5% transaction fee (based on the total transaction value).

Only written cancellations will be accepted; please ensure you receive an acknowledgment of cancellation from reservations.
50% of fee if cancellation is less than 60 days prior to arrival.
100% of fee if cancellation is less than 30 days prior to arrival.

General

25% of fee if cancellation is less than 30 days prior to arrival.
50% of fee if cancellation is less than 15 days prior to arrival.
