- Supports herds of antelope species, including Red Hartebeest, Klipspringer, Springbok, Tsessebe, Eland, Gemsbok and Duiker.
- Other animals to find include Porcupine, Giraffe, Warthog, Serval, Aardwolf, Cape Clawless Otter, Aardvark, Honey Badger, Baboon, Bush Baby and Zebrs.
From the lodge, head out on exhilarating twice-daily game drives to experience the incredible African wilderness of Madikwe Game Reserve. And to connect even more with Madikwe, take a walking safari with your expert guide (subject to availability). In addition to the large and iconic mammals, avian enthusiasts will enjoy the avian paradise of Madikwe, which boasts over 350 recorded bird species.
Our stunning endemic forest is teeming with birdlife, mammals, and reptiles. On guided walks from the lodge, you may even see a favorite sight of elephants bathing in the Marico River.
You can also relax between activities and delicious dining experiences with an African-inspired massage treatment. This is offered by massage therapists from the local community.
As night falls, gaze up at the stars in the pristine bushveld location, which offers an excellent opportunity for stargazing. Whether on a night drive, from your private deck, or at the main lodge, take in the beauty of the constellations and the Milky Way in extraordinary detail. Our knowledgeable guides are passionate about astronomy and eager to share their knowledge about constellations and celestial features.
You can also enjoy Thutlwa Lookout. This is a purpose-built outdoor dining area offering sublime safari sundowners and game viewing opportunities throughout the day. It is a comfortable spot to unwind and soak in the magical sunrises and sets of Madikwe. And it’s accessible to all guests staying at Jaci’s Safari Lodge.
