Of a day, we will search for Amazon Rainforest birds and monkeys that live in the surrounding forest and of a night we will search for Caiman on the river bank. We also show you the culture of the region by visiting one the remaining Ese’Eja indigenous people and learn of their nomadic ancestors.

Heath River Habitat

You will see two very different ecosystems on tours from the Heath River Lodge and see the transition from rainforest to the lowland savannah of the Pampas del Heath. Here, we will also see some of the many nesting sites of red-bellied and blue-and-yellow macaws.

Heath Lodge Wildlife

Surrounding the lodge is an extensive trail network where we will find different Amazon Rainforest animals and plants. In addition to the trail network, there is a hide platform to more easily spot the shy lowland tapir, South America's largest land mammal. We will also visit the Cocha Moa to see different monkeys and birds while we paddle around the lake in our canoe.
