The award-winning Crater Safari Lodge sits on a hill overlooking the beautiful Nyinabulitwa Crater Lake.

The lodge is designed to blend with the region and offers fantastic tours of the nearby Kibale National Park for chimpanzee trekking. You can find the lodge 22km from Fort Portal. The surrounding region is home to nine crater lakes, as well as many tea and coffee plantations.

From the comfortable lodge, enjoy guided tours of the nearby Kibale National Park. You can enjoy cultural visits and many wildlife sightings, including a high diversity of birdlife. However, the main event is trekking to see the chimpanzees.

Accommodation

The lodge is located a few minutes drive from the Kibale Forest National Park. Enjoy comfortable suites, beautiful views of the region and attentive, personalized service.

The lodge includes 11 thatched chalets with spacious wooden balconies providing fantastic views of the region. There are also 10 spacious pool-facing cabanas.

In the main building, you can find the restaurant, bar and lounge. You can also relax in the pool, which also provides fantastic views of the crater lake.

The rooms feature: mosquito nets, wardrobe, clothes rack, shower, bathrobe, free toiletries, toilet, bathroom, bath or shower, outdoor furniture, outdoor dining area, towels, linen, and bedside tables with lamps

Tour

Many guests visit the lodge to enjoy guided chimpanzee tracking and guided tours to the Kibale National Park.

The most popular tour starts from the Kanyanchu visitor and lasts 2 to 3 hours. In addition to chimpanzees, you can see a range of other wildlife including other primates. Find the black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys and grey-cheeked mangabeys.
