The Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge
The Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge is on the Nteko Ridge overlooking the world famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The lodge provides a great place to enjoy local culture and to see fantastic wildlife. From the lodge, not only is it a great place to see mountain gorillas, you also have great birdwatching opportunities. Staying at this comfortable lodge, you will enjoy panoramic views of the Virunga Volcanoes and into the Albertine Rift Valley.


Detailed Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival Entebbe International Airport
You will arrive at Entebbe International Airport and will be collected by Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge staff and transferred to your accommodation in Entebbe (Papyrus Guest House).

Meal Plan: Bed and Breakfast

Day 2: Fly from Entebbe – Kisoro
You will be transferred from your accommodation in Entebbe to Entebbe International Airport for your Aerolink flight to Kisoro. Enjoy the views of central Uganda. See a landscape of mountains, hills with cultivated terraces, tropical rainforest and bamboo forest. Finally you will see the majestic chain of the Virunga Volcanoes. The forest here once joined with the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

You will be collected from Kisoro Airstrip to our coffee Shop in Kisoro for a cup of coffee. After being met by the Nkuringo Gorilla Lodge guide, enjoy a 90 minutes walk (4 km to Lake Mutanda Sheba’s camp) to embark in dugout canoes for 2 1/2 hours on the lake with local guide.

Continue the walk up to Rubuguri (9km). At Rubuguri junction, you will be met by the Vehicle to continue to Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge (10km).

Day 3: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking
Enjoy an early breakfast then you will be transferred to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park by 6:30AM. Drive 23 Km to Rushaga side for gorilla tracking. This drive is about 1 hour.

The park rangers will give you a briefing before entering the forest with dos and don’ts clearly stated. The gorillas are highly sensitive endangered animals. Due to the slippery and challenging terrain, it is highly recommended to wear boots or comfortable shoes, carry a packed lunch and water, and a rain coat due to unpredictable weather. Walking sticks are provided by the rangers

Due to conservation purposes, only 1 hour is allowed in the company of these gentle creatures. We will then return to the lodge.

Day 4: Fly from Kisoro – Entebbe
Early in the morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Kisoro Airstrip. Using Aero link at Kisoro Airstrip, fly back to Entebbe International Airport. You will then wait for your departure flight back home.

Gorilla Permits cannot be guaranteed until we receive a full deposit of US$600 per permit for the months January, February, March, June, July, August, September, October, December, Low season rate USD450 April, May and November (separate from the main tour deposit) and actually pay for the permits at the Wildlife Authority Offices
